Will it snow, not until tomorrow lunch time I hope. Going to Kwik fit in the morning to have my “cross-climate tyres fitted for the winter. Of to work and School.
Well it tried to snow, but ended up as rain, loads of it.
Mrs Shed’s second day at the Tuesday/Friday job. Hope she enjoyed it.
Last night was hectic, little one was supposed to go to school today in a “Tudor” outfit. So I got a phone call from the boss at home time saying Little one really wanted an outfit. So went home via ASDA, Tesco, Matalan and Sainsbury’s. Nothing suitable. Went in the loft into the fancy dress box, there was a Victorian servant outfit. Surprisingly there is not a lot of difference between a 1500’s servant and an 1800’s servant. 👍 Got her up this morning all giddy and took her to school. Anyway as she is in year 6 that should be the end to this type of stress as they don’t do it at “high school” (when did we become American). Wont have to do any craft either (Although I secretly like it, see my, whoops, I mean E’s Humber bridge and stone age settlement.)
Felt funny leaving H alone doing school work.
Just had a Wispa Gold, which reminds me, How do you eat your creme eggs? This is the ultimate way to eat a creme egg. Put the egg in the freezer for an hour or more so it is really cold. Take the foil wrapper off (this is important to stop sparks) put in a microwave (on the proverbial microwaveable plate) and nuke for 4 seconds. This will melt the cream centre but leave the chocolate cold. BE careful, don't burn your lips on the centre, it gets hot very quickly (and can crack the outer chocolate).
E had a Great "Tudor" day, did loads of interesting things like writing with a quill pen, making Tudor games.......
H had pizza, E Had lasagna, Mrs Shed buying supplies on way home and making her own keto meal.
Think I might go for Shelia Hancock's baked beans on toast now the kids have their tea. Never tried it before, but apparently it is marmite on toast covered in the baked beans. I may well enhance this with some Worcestershire source mixed into the beans. Now I think about it; might ditch that and make my patented fried rice. Boil some rice and drain. Put some oil in pan heat. Add the rice and some egg mix together and fry. Now the secret ingredient. Add raisins (or any dried mixed fruity type stuff, currents, sultanas etc), may add Worcestershire sauce (big fan), soya sauce or anything else I grab from the fridge. Do I have a Guinness with it (from a glass not mixed in)?
Which seamlessly leads us onto what is the difference between the 3 main dried fruits? Didn’t know until I ask Mr Google, they are all types of grape. But added to that there are Zante currants, true black and red currants, not to mention in the US, sultanas are referred to as “golden raisins” or “sultana raisins. All very confusing thekitchn says and healthline.com says ,don't think I will ever remember all that.
Final of I'm a celeb this weekend, bit of family time.
